130720 1872r580 viewsGoldsworthy Junction on the Avoidance Road is another loaded bound for Finucane Island behind 4407 serial 20118685-005 from the ninth order of twelve EMD SD70ACe/LCi units built by Progress Rail Muncie. They are the second order to feature the hinged top rail for the front step area. The second unit is an CM40-8M 5659 with less than two years left before it was scrapped. 20th July 2013.Oct 10, 2020

110414 0127r563 viewsBoodarie, loco prep shed see BHP Billiton 'Pumpkin' unit 4326 'Spring' serial 20066862-055 being prepped on 9 Road with the FMG dumper road in the background. 4326 was built by Electro-Motive at London Ontario originally for BNSF railroad of the USA but was part of an order for 10 standard domestic USA model SD70ACe units diverted to BHP in BNSF base pumpkin orange. The ten units underwent a significant upgrade program to see them become lead unit capable. 14th April 2011.Oct 10, 2020

BHP Billiton's 4315 'Mijarrpa' serial 20058712-002 from the second order of EMD SD70ACe/LC locomotives built by Electro-Motive in London Ontario in October 2006 leads a loaded train towards the car dumpers at Finucane Island on what used to be the Goldsworthy Mining Ltd mainline. 14th April 2011.Oct 10, 2020

110406 9788r418 viewsGoldsworthy Junction on the Avoidance Road is second unit BHP Billiton Electro-Motive of London Ontario built EMD model SD70ACe locomotive 4333 'Karlkula' with serial 20066862-062 was a standard USA domestic ordered for BNSF railroad but diverted and sold to BHP, ten units completed this order and 4333 has been modified to a lead unit by a number of modifications like dual handrail, bifurcated hose bag, tropical roof, marker lights and fire suppression of which all of these are visible in this view. 6th April 2011.Oct 10, 2020

The unit is heading up an empty train on the 'Avoidance Road' with second unit being 4307 from the original unit order. Jarturtu is an Western Desert Aboriginal word for tree or gum tree. 18th March 2011.Oct 10, 2020
