It was purchased by Morrison Knudsen for Robe River (along with three sister units) and delivered in January 1975 and repainted and renumbered as 9418 on arrival. 9418 was rebuilt by Goninan WA in December 1990 to become an CM40-8M model with serial number 8109-12 / 90-118. May 2002.
