BHP bought the first SD70ACe type locomotives with this feature and as such loco 4314 was sent for testing at the Pueblo Test Track in the USA. 14th April 2007.

This area is now consumed by the Cape Lambert South Yard. 9th December 2006.

A very rare shot indeed! 1530 hrs 1st October 2004.

041014 142508r847 viewsSix Mile Dampier, Pilbara Railways Historical Society museum, former Cliffs Robe River Iron Associates RSC-3 model ALCo locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) in 1951 for NSWGR as the 40 class 4002 serial 77733, purchased by CRRIA in 1971 and numbered 261.002, then 1705 and finally 9405. 4002 is preserved in an operational state and another claim to fame is it run the Royal Train in NSW February 1954. Thursday 14th October 2004.

071101 1129r843 viewsRedbank Bridge Port Hedland, Kingston Transport's Mack brings FMG's General Electric built Dash 9-44CW loco 010 over the Redbank Bridge after stopping on the north side to remove the tarpaulin which had come loose. This was the only unit delivered minus the tarp. Thursday 1st November 2007.

These units were the last locomotives of this model built by General Electric. 20th January 2008.

050110 094244r837 viewsJust south of Dugite Siding original liveried Hamersley Iron General Electric built Dash 9-44CW 7089 serial 47768 leads two similar Robe River units 9433 serial 54766 in Pilbara Iron livery and 9429 serial 54188 Pilbara Rail livery with an empty train at the 67 km grade crossing. Trailing unit 9429 was under test due to fluctuating power and workshops personal were on board the unit alighting at Gecko Siding. Monday 10th January 2005.

The locos are at the 0.0 km and the loaded rake can be seen in the background. 25th May 2008.

090814 2109r837 viewsHunter Siding, the empty train takes the passing track under the power of two FMG General Electric built Dash 9-44CW units 011 serial 58188 and 010 serial 58187, while another pair of identical units 002 serial 58179 and 012 serial 58189 hold the mainline and will wait for a new PA to continue towards the port. The dust between the two trains is from the BHP access road. 14th August 2009.

050110 175326r835 viewsHarding Siding, Robe River ore waggon 074 built by Nippon Sharyo Nihon in 1971 is one of a few waggons that runs permanently coupled to another waggon. Unlike the Hamersley Iron system married pairs, the Robe fleet each have their own brake system and are coupled by a length of round bar as the Cape Lambert dumper only dumps one waggon at a time. Monday 10th January 2005.

060416 3478r834 viewsNelson Point Locomotive Service Shop, BHP Billiton's class leader of the Electro-Motive built SD70ACe/LC locomotive 4300 serial 20038540-001 which was actually purchased as a spare parts source, sits in the shed during commissioning, of note is that it has no windscreen protectors fitted. 16th April 2006. This unit was subsequently stripped and then the frame and cab eventually scrapped in January 2016 without ever hauling a train.
