This order for ten units are standard US 'domestic' models with the 16-710G3C-T3 at 4500 horsepower and one inverter per axle hence the '-P6' and were fitted with the extra handrails and other refinements like the fire suppressant tanks and bifurcated air pipe here in Port Hedland, other points of difference include only one cow plough on short hood end, ditch lights on both ends, standard US air horn and no marker lights. 10th April 2020.

041014 142544r2738 viewsSix Mile Dampier, Pilbara Railways Historical Society museum, former Cliffs Robe River Iron Associates RSC-3 model ALCo locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) in 1951 for NSWGR as the 40 class 4002 serial 77733, purchased by CRRIA in 1971 and numbered 261.002, then 1705 and finally 9405. 4002 is preserved in an operational state and another claim to fame is it run the Royal Train in NSW February 1954. Thursday 14th October 2004.
