050111 090411r960 viewsSeven Mile, Goninan ALCo to GE rebuild C36-7M units 5052 'Ben' serial 4839-04 / 87-073 and 5051 'Bill' serial 4839-03 / 87-072 lead an empty consist across Anchovy Flats from Parker Point. Tuesday 11th January 2005. These two locos started life as ALCo C636 units for Mt Newman Mining, then rebuilt by Goninan for BHP into the C36-7M, upon retiring Goninan overhauled them and they have been in service at Seven Mile for eight years and are still stored there.

Comeng WA ALCo rebuild C636R unit 9426 has already been sent to Perth and sister 9427 is stripped and ready to follow. The other units behind 9427 are ALCo M636 units 9416, 9413, 9415 and 9412. 9th December 2006.

050110 175658r952 viewsHarding Siding, 42 km on the Cape Lambert line, following a hot box alarm an empty Deepdale bound train headed by triple General Electric built Dash 9-44CW units 7085 serial 47764 in owner's Hamersley Iron livery, 9402 serial 53456 in Robe River Pilbara Rail livery and 7061 serial 54768 in Hamersley Iron Pilbara Iron livery have cut off and pulled into the siding with eight waggons of the consist. The locos of the loaded train 7069 and 7077 can just be seen to the left of the signal are cutting off the defect waggons. The loaded train is stabled on the mainline track. Monday 10th January 2005.

This area is now consumed by the Cape Lambert South Yard. 9th December 2006.

090814 2109r942 viewsHunter Siding, the empty train takes the passing track under the power of two FMG General Electric built Dash 9-44CW units 011 serial 58188 and 010 serial 58187, while another pair of identical units 002 serial 58179 and 012 serial 58189 hold the mainline and will wait for a new PA to continue towards the port. The dust between the two trains is from the BHP access road. 14th August 2009.

071101 1129r936 viewsRedbank Bridge Port Hedland, Kingston Transport's Mack brings FMG's General Electric built Dash 9-44CW loco 010 over the Redbank Bridge after stopping on the north side to remove the tarpaulin which had come loose. This was the only unit delivered minus the tarp. Thursday 1st November 2007.

130720 1872r935 viewsGoldsworthy Junction on the Avoidance Road is another loaded bound for Finucane Island behind 4407 serial 20118685-005 from the ninth order of twelve EMD SD70ACe/LCi units built by Progress Rail Muncie. They are the second order to feature the hinged top rail for the front step area. The second unit is an CM40-8M 5659 with less than two years left before it was scrapped. 20th July 2013.

230110 5497r935 viewsBoodarie, FMG's Wabtec rebuild AC44C6M unit 108 serial number 50649. These AC to DC conversions feature a new cab and a new radiator section similar to the ES44DCi and ACi units. FMG ordered twenty eight of these units from Wabtec, all rebuilt from former BNSF 9-44CW locomotives and they have kept the original build dates and serial numbers of the former units. FMG 108 was originally BNSF 4795 built back in June 1998 with serial number 50649.
