Here it idles away next to TSB 2 building awaiting a path out of Nelson Point yard with the 'Recycle Rake' bound for the dumper at Finucane Island 1945 hrs 17th August 2004.

050111 090411r254 viewsSeven Mile, Goninan ALCo to GE rebuild C36-7M units 5052 'Ben' serial 4839-04 / 87-073 and 5051 'Bill' serial 4839-03 / 87-072 lead an empty consist across Anchovy Flats from Parker Point. Tuesday 11th January 2005. These two locos started life as ALCo C636 units for Mt Newman Mining, then rebuilt by Goninan for BHP into the C36-7M, upon retiring Goninan overhauled them and they have been in service at Seven Mile for eight years and are still stored there.

061209 8231r253 viewsSeven Mile 38 Road, former Robe River AE Goodwin built ALCo M636 unit 9416 serial G6046-16 awaits a new owner. 9416 was originally built for Hamersley Iron as #4045 and was purchased by Robe right before shipping to Hamersley Iron and entered service in February 1973. The ducting on the hood is the air to air intercooler modifications. 9th of December 2006.

041014 142508r252 viewsSix Mile Dampier, Pilbara Railway Historical Museum, former Cliffs Robe River Iron Associates RSD-3 model ALCo locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) in 1951 for NSWGR as the 40 class 4002 serial 77733, purchased by CRRIA in 1971 and numbered 261.002, then 1705 and finally 9405. 4002 is preserved in an operational state and another claim to fame is it run the Royal Train in NSW February 1954. Thursday 14th October 2004.

040806 091254r251 viewsGoldsworthy Junction, BHP Goninan GE rebuild CM40-8MEFI 5666 'Taranto' serial 8412-11 / 94-157, was the first unit fitted with Electronic Fuel Injection to the 16FDL engine hence the EFI on the model designation, is in charge of the Weighbridge Calibration train which is situated in the middle of the switches at the Goldsworthy Junction. 5666 will do several trips back and forward over the weighbridge at various speed to allow the technicians to calibrate it as well as having to clear the mainline for loaded and empty train movements. 0915 hrs 6th August 2004.

Of note, these cells for FMG will clamp the top of the waggons similar to Pilbara Iron car dumpers while the BHP cells clamp down on side pockets in the waggons. Sunday 23rd September 2007.

050110 175658r250 viewsHarding Siding, 42 km on the Cape Lambert line, following a hot box alarm an empty Deepdale bound train headed by triple General Electric built C44-9W units 7085 serial 47764 in owner's Hamersley Iron livery, 9402 serial 53456 in Robe River Pilbara Rail livery and 7061 serial 54768 in Hamersley Iron Pilbara Iron livery have cut off and pulled into the siding with eight waggons of the consist. The locos of the loaded train 7069 and 7077 can just be seen to the left of the signal are cutting off the defect waggons. The loaded train is stabled on the mainline track. Monday 10th January 2005.

This junction is known as Western Creek and the double track of Emu can be seen to the left. Monday 10th January 2005.

050110 140552r248 viewsHaving departed Ibis Siding five minutes earlier double General Electric built C44-9W Hamersley Iron units 7069 serial 47748 and 7077 serial 47756 work a 230 loaded waggon train heading north between Ibis and Gull sidings. Above the two locos the east mainline can be seen in the background which was part of the second last duplication project from Gull to Tunkawanna and is a single track section with only passing tracks being on the original west mainline section. Monday 10th January 2005.
