213-06565 viewsWeipa, Lorim Point railway workshops. Comalco shunt engine R 1003 coupled to a Difco side dump waggon. R 1003 is an Electro Motive built NW2 model with serial number 4114 and frame number of E761-8 was built in November 1946 at La Grange originally for Canadian National with road number 7943. Sold to Comalco in December 1975 and entered service in 1976. This unit was subsequently scrapped in 2000.

130720 1872r563 viewsGoldsworthy Junction on the Avoidance Road is another loaded bound for Finucane Island behind 4407 serial 20118685-005 from the ninth order of twelve EMD SD70ACe/LCi units built by Progress Rail Muncie. They are the second order to feature the hinged top rail for the front step area. The second unit is an CM40-8M 5659 with less than two years left before it was scrapped. 20th July 2013.

The dust between the two trains is from the BHP access road. 14th August 2009.

Unlike the Hamersley Iron system married pairs, the Robe fleet each have their own brake system and are coupled by a length of round bar as the Cape Lambert dumper only dumps one waggon at a time. Monday 10th January 2005.

110414 0127r550 viewsBoodarie, loco prep shed see BHP Billiton 'Pumpkin' unit 4326 'Spring' serial 20066862-055 being prepped on 9 Road with the FMG dumper road in the background. 4326 was built by Electro-Motive at London Ontario originally for BNSF railroad of the USA but was part of an order for 10 standard domestic USA model SD70ACe units diverted to BHP in BNSF base pumpkin orange. The ten units underwent a significant upgrade program to see them become lead unit capable. 14th April 2011.

A 300 tonne crane on the left and an even bigger 500 tonne crane combine to lift the 200 tonne mass of the 4300 hp SD70ACe locomotive, 14th June 2008.
