Seen here approaching the Redbank Bridge. Of note is these cells for FMG will clamp the top of the ore waggon, similar to the Pilbara Iron dumpers, while the BHP cells clamp down on side pockets in the waggons. Sunday 23rd September 2007.

050110 140552r180 viewsHaving departed Ibis Siding five minutes earlier double General Electric built C44-9W Hamersley Iron units 7069 serial 47748 and 7077 serial 47756 work a 230 loaded waggon train heading north between Ibis and Gull sidings. Above the two locos the east mainline can be seen in the background which was part of the second last duplication project from Gull to Tunkawanna and is a single track section with only passing tracks being on the original west mainline section. Monday 10th January 2005.

Comeng WA ALCo rebuild CE636R unit 9426 has already been sent to Perth and sister 9427 is stripped and ready to follow. The other units behind 9427 are ALCo M636 9416 and C636 units 9413, 9415 and 9412. 9th December 2006.

213-01178 viewsWeipa, Lorim Point workshops looking east, Comalco R 1001 loco Clyde Engineering built EMD model GT26C serial 72-752 sits at the fuel point, items of note are these units were setup to have the long hood leading, the second 'tropical roof' and the five chime horn cut into the nose. This unit is almost identical to the GT26C models of the WAGR L class. September 1995.

Also noticeable, the units don't have dynamic brakes fitted so there is no brake 'blister' in the middle of the hood like you see on the GT26C models of WAGR L or VR C classes. September 1995.

This junction is known as Western Creek and the double track of Emu can be seen to the left. Monday 10th January 2005.
