091001 2490r947 viewsGoldsworthy Junction on the Avoidance Road is BHP Billiton Electro-Motive built EMD model SD70ACe/LC locomotive 4339 with serial 20078915-006 from the fourth order of thirteen units as it leads an empty rake towards Bing with the second unit being an as yet unmodified SD70ACe Pumpkin locomotive 4329. 4339 was later on named Finucane and 4329 named Pilbara. 1st October 2009.

180117 1146946 viewsGreat Northern Highway, 18 km grade crossing sees Roy Hill loaded fuel train with General Electric built ES44ACi units RHA 1018 serial 63829 leading RHA 1019, CFCLA lease unit Goninan ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M unit CD 4302 and RHA 1013 with eleven loaded fuel tank waggons. CD 4302 is the only unit powering as it was being tested. 17th January 2018.

100508 8319r945 viewsNelson Point, BHP Billiton 'Pumpkin' unit 4328 was built by Electro-Motive as an EMD model SD70ACe for the BNSF railroad in the USA with serial 20066862-057 but was sold to BHP while under construction as one of ten similar units to be diverted to BHP in an all over BNSF base orange earning them the nickname of 'pumpkins' after the BNSF livery. They were standard US domestic units and required substantial modifications to be afforded lead unit status for BHP. This view shows the tropical roof, marker lights, fire suppression tanks and dual handrail. 8th May 2010.

110406 9788r943 viewsGoldsworthy Junction on the Avoidance Road is second unit BHP Billiton Electro-Motive of London Ontario built EMD model SD70ACe locomotive 4333 'Karlkula' with serial 20066862-062 was a standard USA domestic ordered for BNSF railroad but diverted and sold to BHP, ten units completed this order and 4333 has been modified to a lead unit by a number of modifications like dual handrail, bifurcated hose bag, tropical roof, marker lights and fire suppression of which all of these are visible in this view. 6th April 2011.

This facility has since been demolished.

The line to the right is the line to the Junction, Yarrie and Bing. 1410 hrs 2nd August 2004.

Even a 30 km remote railway requires a grinder! September 1995.
