080116 136490 viewsChapman Siding at the 69 km on FMG's under construction line to Cloud Break mine, new waggons stabled in the passing track awaiting service, built by China Southern or CSR at their Zhuzhou Rolling Stock Works in China in 2007, here slave waggon 1395 and master waggon 2396 sit in the arvo sunlight. The yellow circle indicates the rotary coupler end and the tare weight of the slave waggon at 22.6 tonnes, while the master weighs 22.9 tonnes as it hosts the brake control equipment. 16th January 2008.

200412 606990 viewsBoodarie, part of a loaded FMG train, a mismatched waggon pair, both are CRRC Yangtze Rolling Stock Co. of China builds, 7535 is a slave waggon with rotary coupler and 23.1 tonne tare and carrying the wrong number as it should be 7635, coupled to control waggon 8636 23.3 tonnes tare. Earlier on the same day I saw another 7535 coupled to a 8536. Both should be 2018 builds. 12th April 2020.

200914 777490 viewsPilbara Railways Historical Society, former ALCo built demonstrator locomotive model C-415 serial 3449-1 built April 1966, currently carrying number 1000, it was originally numbered 008 when Hamersley Iron purchased the unit in 1968. It was retired from service on the 24th February 1982. It then spent some time carrying number 2000 while building the Marandoo railway line from Sept 1991. 14th September 2020.

200914 778490 viewsPilbara Railways Historical Society museum, former Cliffs Robe River Iron Associates RSD-3 model ALCo locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) in 1951 for NSWGR as the 40 class 4002 serial 77733, purchased by CRRIA in 1971 and numbered 261.002, then 1705 and finally 9405. 4002 is preserved in an operational state and another claim to fame is it run the Royal Train in NSW February 1954. Donated to the Society in 1979. 14th September 2020.

The ducting on the hood is the air to air intercooler modifications. 22nd October 2000.
