060528 4583220 viewsWOB type iron ore waggon WOB 31392 is one of a batch of twenty five built by Comeng WA between 1974 and 1975 and converted from Mt Newman high sided waggons by WAGR Midland Workshops with a capacity of 67 tons with fleet number 317 for Koolyanobbing iron ore operations, this waggon was converted to a WSM ballast hopper, then converted back to a WOB by WAGR Midland Workshops, and started life as a Comeng built Mt Newman Mining ore waggon in 1974. It was originally numbered 31391 by WAGR, seen here loaded with fines at Bonnie Vale, 28th May 2006.

060113 2433220 viewsThevenard, at the Gypsum Resources Australian (GRA) gypsum unloading site, 1604 leads a triple consist of Clyde Engineering EMD JL22C model 1600 / NJ class combination of 1604 serial 71-731 and originally NJ 4, NJ 3 serial 71-730 and 1601 serial 71-728 class leader NJ 1, all three units started on the Central Australia Railway in 1971 and were transferred to the Eyre Peninsula in 1981. 1604 and 1601 both renumbered in 2004. Friday 13th January 2006.

One of forty rebuilt by Islington Workshops 1978-79 to the HCN type with a 36 ton rating, increased to 40 tonnes in 1984. Seen here loaded with grain with a Moose Metalworks roll-top cover.

They used to be three metres longer and originally built by Metropolitan Cammell Britain as GB type in 1952-55.
