060113 2443340 viewsThevenard, at the Gypsum Resources Australian (GRA) gypsum unloading site, 1604 leads a triple consist of Clyde Engineering EMD JL22C model 1600 / NJ class combination of 1604 serial 71-731 and originally NJ 4, NJ 3 serial 71-730 and 1601 serial 71-728 class leader NJ 1, all three units started on the Central Australia Railway in 1971 and were transferred to the Eyre Peninsula in 1981. 1604 and 1601 both renumbered in 2004. Friday 13th January 2006.

One of forty rebuilt by Islington Workshops 1978-79 to the HCN type with a 36 ton rating, increased to 40 tonnes in 1984. Fitted with a Moose Metalworks roll-top cover. 5th July 2013.

PD 12598340 viewsWest Kalgoorlie, WOB type iron ore waggon WOB 31390 is one of a batch of twenty five built by Comeng WA between 1974 and 1975 and converted from Mt Newman high sided waggons by WAGR Midland Workshops with a capacity of 67 tons with fleet number 315 for Koolyanobbing iron ore operations and is one of the 15 converted to WSM type ballast hoppers by re-fitting the removed top section of the body and fitting bottom discharge doors. Converted back to WOB in 1997, fleet number not yet applied and having been fully re-sheeted and painted with the new angled lip applied to the top of the body.

They used to be three metres longer and originally built by Metropolitan Cammell Britain as GB type in 1952-55, seen here in a rake with sister waggons.
