It is one of four C630 ALCo units purchased in 1974 and delivered to Robe in January 1975. Everything below the frame is ALCo while above is GE and Pilbara Cab. 9024 Comeng 030712 143247423 viewsNelson Point, empty BHP ore waggon 9024, originally built by Comeng in Mittagong NSW as a part of seven prototype ore waggons made from low carbon 301 stainless steel with an higher volume and aerodynamic flat sides and were bogieless with four independent radial wheel sets. Of the seven waggon, the first four had a flat floor and final three had a drop belly floor. The radial wheel sets were later replaced with conventional bogies. This view shows the reduced gap between waggons reduced from 1084 to 934 mm to aid the aerodynamics. July 12, 2003.
