213-23441 viewsWeipa, Lorim Point fuel point, Comalco R 1004 loco Clyde Engineering built EMD model JT42C built 1990 serial 90-1277, weight 132 tonne, engine 12-710G3A, generator AR11-WBA-CA5, traction motors D87ETR, rated power 2460 kW/3300 hp. The body is similar to a V/Line N class while the components are the same as the Australian National AN class. Originally built for Goldsworthy Mining as GML 10 for use at their Western Australian iron ore railway and locally known as Cinderella. Purchased by Comalco in 1994 following the takeover of Goldsworthy by BHP.

Dash 8 units in the yard, on the 5642 with the Steel Train and 5648 with another on a rake of index waggons. The 2 km post can just be made out at the third light pole from the right.

Coupling between second unit locomotive and the inline fuelling waggon QQFY 4271, shows the MU or Multiple Unit red cable going into the socket with the cream cap on the waggon and the red cap on the loco, behind that is the crimp fitting is the in-line fuel hose between waggon and the loco along with train air pipe and coupling.

Train length is 240 waggons with a 120/120 split. Yandi Two ore stockpile and pedestal stacker boom tip visible in the background, the loadout operates via gravity and the train travels through a tunnel. May 1998.
