247-3348 viewsNear Cooya Pooya at the 37.5 km on the Robe River Cape Lambert line an empty train passes under the town water supply pipeline and pass through Lockyer Gap behind the standard Robe power of quad CM40-8M or Dash 8 locomotives led by 9425 which is a Goninan WA ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M with serial 6266-8 / 89-85 from August 1989 and was originally an AE Goodwin built M636 ALCo serial C-6041-4 new for Mt Newman Mining (later BHP Iron Ore) in April 1970 and numbered 5468, sold to Robe and delivered by road 17th August 1982, compare to second unit 9410 with a Comeng style large flat fuel tank. On road N2 is 9427 a Comeng WA C636R rebuild from ALCo Schenectady NY model C636 serial 3499-2 originally built in January 1968 for Pennsylvania Railroad as #6331, Penn Central 6331 and finally Conrail 6781. Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into C636R before delivery to Robe in January 1987. This loco also went on to become DR 8403 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Behind it is sister unit 9426. Approximate location. 24th April 2004.
