251-1117 viewsNelson Point, BHP's recently retired Goninan WA ALCo C636 to GE C36-7M rebuild unit 5511 awaits its fate. Rebuilt in 1987 at Goninan's Welshpool factory from 1969 AE Goodwin built ALCo C636 with serial number G6035-4 and road number 5463 and assigned new serial number 4839-08 / 87-076. It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Port Hedland. 551 holds the dubious honour of being the first unit withdrawn following an engine failure in 1998. 22nd April 2000.

This was the first unit in the world to be built into a C36-7 from an ALCo C636 locomotive. It was rebuilt 1987 from AE-Goodwin built ALCo C636 numbered 5455 with serial number G6012-4.

Unsure of the MS6-82 code, the DZ 11-95 code was the late time it was internally painted to reduce wear and the SL 76 with 92 below it was the last time the Miner SL-76 draft gear was replaced. 12th of July 2003.

247-2716 viewsCape Lambert fuel point, Robe River locomotive 9420 which is a Goninan WA ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M with serial 8109-03 / 91-119 from March 1991 riding on Hi-Ad bogies and was originally an ALCo Schenectady built C630 serial 3486-4 and built new for Chesapeake & Ohio (USA) as their 2103. It is one of four C630 ALCo units purchased in 1974 and delivered to Robe in January 1975. Everything below the frame is ALCo while above is GE and Pilbara Cab. 247-2916 viewsCape Lambert fuel point, Robe River locomotive 9410 which is a Goninan WA ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M with serial 2160-03 / 96-202 from March 1996 riding on Dofasco bogies and was originally a Comeng NSW built M636 ALCo serial C-6096-5 and built new for Mt Newman Mining (later BHP Iron Ore) in November 1975 and numbered 5500. Everything below the frame is ALCo, with the Comeng build style flat fuel tank, while above is GE and Pilbara Cab. Approximate location of the locos is here. 22nd May 2002.

Rebuilt in 1987 at Goninan's Welshpool factory from 1969 AE Goodwin built ALCo C636 with serial number G6012-1 and road number 5452 and assigned new serial number 4839-05 / 87-074. It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Chichester. 5509 was subsequently cut down in September 2003 and then sent to United Goninan's Lansdowne NSW facility for use as an engine test bed, then later to Broadmeadow NSW. 22nd April 2000.

The line is 5510, 5506, 5508, 5512, 5513, 5507, 5509, 5511, and, 5513. They had recently been displaced due to the arrival of the AC6000 units which also took their name plates. Only two units would go on to survive 5507 and 5508. 22nd April 2000.
