256-33138 viewsAt the 89.6 km grade crossing the loaded train behind the quad CM40-8M working of 9414, 9420, 9410 and 9425 rolls across the crossing and heads down the 1.26 percent grade. 9414 was built by AE Goodwin NSW as an ALCo M636 model in December 1971 with serial number G-6060-5 and part of the original order for five units. Locomotive was delivered to Robe River in January 1972 with Bechtel Pacific road umber 262.005 for construction use and was renumbered 1714 when that was completed. 9414 was rebuilt by Goninan WA in November 1991 to become an CM40-8M model with serial number 8206-11 / 91-124. May 2002.
