139-12451 viewsBallarat yard disc signal Post 12 originally had six semaphores then six discs and in 1991 it was down to five discs. Not long after this view was taken the interlocked yard at Ballarat was rationalised and electrified with point motors and colour light signals taking over and all the old interlocked sidings had their interlocking removed. The top left hand Disc to the Car Sidings behind the station, centre left Disc towards Post No. 21 for No. 1 Road, removed bottom left Disc was towards Post No. 22 for No. 2 Road (also removed), top right hand Disc to Post No. 23 for No. 3 Road, centre right Disc towards Post No. 20 for No. 4 Road and the bottom right Disc to point 'D' towards Post No. 14 which led into the back road and the goods sheds and platforms.
