Nelson Point, the final ALCo on the BHP roster, 5499 sits stored pending its future. Built by Comeng NSW in November 1975 as an ALCo M636 with serial number C6096-04. The unit was intended to be donated to Thursday Island, but this didn't eventuate due to logistical reasons. It is now at the Rail Heritage WA museum in Bassendean. 22nd April 2000.
