251-31115 viewsNelson Point, the final ALCo on the BHP roster, 5499 sits stored pending its future. Built by Comeng NSW in November 1975 as an ALCo M636 with serial number C6096-04. The unit was intended to be donated to Thursday Island, but this didn't eventuate due to logistical reasons. It is now at the Rail Heritage WA museum in Bassendean. 22nd April 2000.

251-0061 viewsNelson Point, BHP's retired Goninan WA's ALCo C636 to GE C36-7M rebuilds, these were the first time in the world that an ALCo C636 had been rebuilt into an GE C36-7, are lined up near the service shop awaiting their fate. The line is 5510, 5506, 5508, 5512, 5513, 5507, 5509, 5511, and, 5513. They had recently been displaced due to the arrival of the AC6000 units which also took their name plates. Only two units would go on to survive 5507 and 5508. 22nd April 2000.

Rebuilt in 1987 at Goninan's Welshpool factory from 1969 AE Goodwin built ALCo C636 with serial number G6027-2 and road number 5458 and assigned new serial number 4839-07 / 87-075. It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Newman. It received Dash 8 radiators following collision damage in 1993. 22nd April 2000.

Rebuilt in 1987 at Goninan's Welshpool factory from 1969 AE Goodwin built ALCo C636 with serial number G6012-4 and road number 5455 and assigned new serial number 4839-01 / 87-071. It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Mt Whaleback, then in 1991 5506 emerged in BHP livery carrying Ethel Creek, it was later changed to Mt Goldsworthy, it was also one of three units to carry the Goldsworthy Joint Venture lettering. 22nd April 2000.

Rebuilt in 1988 at Goninan's Welshpool factory from 1970 AE Goodwin built ALCo C636 with serial number G6041-1 and road number 5465 and assigned new serial number 4839-01 / 88-077. It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Hesta. 22nd April 2000.

Rebuilt in 1987 at Goninan's Welshpool factory from 1969 AE Goodwin built ALCo C636 with serial number G6041-2 and road number 5466 and assigned new serial number 4839-04 / 87-073. It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Fortescue. It also carried the marigold and teal version of the Australia map as part of the BHP logo. In 2003 it was fully rebuilt and leased to Pilbara Rail in that livery and numbered 5052. It survives stored at 7 mile complex as at Dec 2021. 22nd April 2000.

It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Ethel Creek, then in 1991 5507 emerged in BHP livery carrying Mt Whaleback, then renamed to Corunna Downs and again finally to Nimingarra, it was also one of three units to carry the Goldsworthy Joint Venture lettering. In 2003 it was fully rebuilt and leased to Pilbara Rail in that livery and numbered 5051. It survives stored at 7 mile complex as at Dec 2021. 22nd April 2000.
