213-06156 viewsWeipa, Lorim Point Workshops, Comalco shunt loco R 1003 sits unused and almost out of service in October 1995. EMD model NW2 built 1946 serial 4114 in service with Comalco in 1976 and purchased from Canadian National in 1975. Subsequently it was later scrapped in 2000.

Also noticeable, the units don't have dynamic brakes fitted so there is no brake 'blister' in the middle of the hood like you see on the GT26C models of WAGR L or VR C classes. September 1995.

The body is similar to a V/Line N class while the components are the same as the Australian National AN class. Originally built for Goldsworthy Mining as GML 10 for use at their Western Australian iron ore railway and locally known as Cinderella. Purchased by Comalco in 1994 following the takeover of Goldsworthy by BHP.
