110620 1959r21 viewsWalla Siding, BHP ore waggon 9070 loaded with Yandi fines, renumbered from 2821, originally built in 1971 by Comeng WA as part of a batch of four hundred waggons. The renumbering would be due to a new waggon replacing a potential scrap waggon, which then has been returned to service. 20th of June 2011.

110620 1965r21 viewsWalla Siding, comparison between two BHP ore waggons loaded with Yandi fines of the Golynx design type, 8410 was built in November 2001 for bottom discharge on the Goldsworthy system with serial number 950088-340, while 6834 was built in 2008. The burn or weld marks are still visible on 8410 from when it was in GML service, now converted for rotary service, noticed the filled in end and the angle section along the top edge for support. 20th of June 2011.

247-2920 viewsCape Lambert fuel point, Robe River locomotive 9410 which is a Goninan WA ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M with serial 2160-03 / 96-202 from March 1996 riding on Dofasco bogies and was originally a Comeng NSW built M636 ALCo serial C-6096-5 and built new for Mt Newman Mining (later BHP Iron Ore) in November 1975 and numbered 5500. Everything below the frame is ALCo, with the Comeng build style flat fuel tank, while above is GE and Pilbara Cab. Approximate location of the locos is here. 22nd May 2002.

Rebuilt in 1988 at Goninan's Welshpool factory from 1970 AE Goodwin built ALCo C636 with serial number G6012-2 and road number 5453 and assigned new serial number 4839-02 / 88-078. It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Kalgan. 22nd April 2000.

Rebuilt in 1987 at Goninan's Welshpool factory from 1969 AE Goodwin built ALCo C636 with serial number G6035-4 and road number 5463 and assigned new serial number 4839-08 / 87-076. It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Port Hedland. 551 holds the dubious honour of being the first unit withdrawn following an engine failure in 1998. 22nd April 2000.

254-1520 viewsFlash Butt yard, stored with no engine Goninan ALCo to GE rebuild C36-7M unit 5506 with serial number 4839-01 / 87-071. This was the first unit in the world to be built into a C36-7 from an ALCo C636 locomotive. It was rebuilt 1987 from AE-Goodwin built ALCo C636 numbered 5455 with serial number G6012-4.

267-1620 viewsGoldsworthy Junction, the Sundowner Special is on the Newman mainline leg of the Goldsworthy Junction and triangle, with the Sundowner coach in between CM40-8M GE unit 5634 'Boodarie' serial number 8151-07 / 91-120 and sister CM40-8M 5653. This train, and the empty before it, were delayed due to a jamming switch for the transfer road where Tamper 2 and Ballast Regulator 31 can be seen holding track. The road curving around to the left is the Goldsworthy mainline to Boodarie and Finucane Island. Friday 12th of April 2002.

030712 14224220 viewsNelson Point, empty BHP ore waggon 9021, originally built by Comeng in Mittagong NSW as a part of seven prototype ore waggons made from low carbon 301 stainless steel with an higher volume and aerodynamic flat sides and were bogieless with four independent radial wheel sets. Of the seven waggon, the first four had a flat floor and final three had a drop belly floor. The radial wheel sets were later replaced with conventional bogies. 12th of July 2003.
