At the time of this image Siding 3 or Murray Camp was unable to cross ore trains so Siding One - Harding or Siding Two - Maitland were used. May 2002.

268-2567 viewsAt the 39 km detection site with the Alstom 25-year special, the Sundowner coach, originally built by E. G. Budd in 1939 numbered 301 as the Silver Star, a diner-parlour-observation coach on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad's General Pershing Zephyr train from the 1930s and 1940s. Donated to Mt Newman Mining Co. by AMAX an original joint venture partner to commemorate the projects first 100 million tonnes of iron ore railed between Mount Whaleback mine and the Port Hedland port. 12th of April 2002.

110620 2014r67 viewsWalla Siding, comparison between two empty BHP ore waggons with the tapered floor design. 4507 was built by Transfield WA in in 1976 in an order for eighteen waggons, while 4260 is a Goninan WA build from an order of one hundred and twenty-six waggons using 3CR12 stainless steel in an effort to eliminate internal painting and reducing wear on the waggon body, these were designated HC7081. 20th of June 2011.

Visible is the ODCX code and number 82190 from the Oroville Dam Construction company days in the USA. Unsure of the MS6-82 code, the DZ 11-95 code was the late time it was internally painted to reduce wear and the SL 76 with 92 below it was the last time the Miner SL-76 draft gear was replaced. The orange smiley sticker indicates that this is an original 'Oroville Dam' ore waggon and non relayed AB braked. 12th of July 2003.

247-2866 viewsCape Lambert fuel point, Robe River Dash 8 power 9425 which is a Goninan WA ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M with serial 6266-8 / 89-85 from August 1989 riding on Hi-Ad bogies and was originally an AE Goodwin built M636 ALCo serial C-6041-4 and built new for Mt Newman Mining (later BHP Iron Ore) in April 1970 and numbered 5468, sold to Robe and delivered by road 17th August 1982. Everything below the frame is ALCo while above is GE and Pilbara Cab. Approximate location of the locos is here. 22nd May 2002.

The third pier from the southern end was undermined by flood waters from Tropical Cyclone John in December 1999. The rail line was closed for two weeks while repairs were effected. 251-0966 viewsNelson Point, BHP's recently retired Goninan WA ALCo C636 to GE C36-7M rebuild unit 5509 awaits its fate. Rebuilt in 1987 at Goninan's Welshpool factory from 1969 AE Goodwin built ALCo C636 with serial number G6012-1 and road number 5452 and assigned new serial number 4839-05 / 87-074. It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Chichester. 5509 was subsequently cut down in September 2003 and then sent to United Goninan's Lansdowne NSW facility for use as an engine test bed, then later to Broadmeadow NSW. 22nd April 2000.

251-1466 viewsNelson Point, BHP's retired Goninan WA's ALCo C636 to GE C36-7M rebuilds, these were the first time in the world that an ALCo C636 had been rebuilt into an GE C36-7, are lined up near the service shop awaiting their fate. The line is 5510, 5506, 5508, 5512, 5513, 5507, 5509, 5511, and, 5513. They had recently been displaced due to the arrival of the AC6000 units which also took their name plates. Only two units would go on to survive 5507 and 5508. 22nd April 2000.
