256-22318 viewsMaitland Siding, Robe River CM40-8M unit 9417 (2nd) leading an empty train into the passing track. 9417 was the first CM40-8M rebuild carried out by Goninan in 1989, it was originally an ALCo built C636 unit for Spokane Portland & Seattle numbered 340 with serial number 6010-1, it went onto to be Burlington Northern 4366 and then purchased for Robe River in late 1980 as a parts source. When finally rebuilt by Goninan in June 1989 it had new serial number of 6266-5 / 89-83 and replaced the original 9417 which was scrapped in 1979. May 2002.
