246-211846 viewsCape Lambert, a Robe River loaded Deepdale train arrives on the main behind the standard quad Dash 8 power with 202 waggons. 9414 which is a Goninan WA ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M with serial 8206-11 / 91-124 from November 1991 riding on Dofasco bogies and was originally an AE Goodwin built M636 ALCo built new for Robe in December 1971 and numbered 262.005, later numbered 1714. 22nd May 2002.

Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into C636R before delivery to Robe in November 1986. This loco also went on to become DR 8401 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Seen here in the South Yard waiting to drag a loaded rake down to the car dumper. Approximate location of train is here. 22nd May 2002.

247-091819 viewsCape Lambert fuel point, Robe River locomotive 9420 which is a Goninan WA ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M with serial 8109-03 / 91-119 from March 1991 riding on Hi-Ad bogies and was originally an ALCo Schenectady built C630 serial 3486-4 and built new for Chesapeake & Ohio (USA) as their 2103. It is one of four C630 ALCo units purchased in 1974 and delivered to Robe in January 1975. Everything below the frame is ALCo while above is GE and Pilbara Cab. Approximate location of the locos is here. 22nd May 2002.

From left is the frame of an SD40R and prime mover, AC6000 6073, SD40R 3091, AC6000 6075 and SD40 3079. Beside 3079 is the remains of AC6000 unit 6071 having been reduced from one of the most powerful locomotives to work in Australia to a munched up tangled mass of metal, the EVO motor is still in the frame.
