5944 001 Welshpool 1987April
Welshpool, Goninan workshops, Mt Newman Mining C636 ALCo unit 5453 serial G6012-2 built by AE Goodwin in 1969 is undergoing a world first as it gets rebuilt into a GE C36-7M locomotive. In this April 1987 view the process has started with the bogies and fuel tank removed. By February 1988 it would be the final C36-7M built for Mt Newman Mining as 5513. April 1987.
